ATLANTA · CITY MARKET

Search & AI visibility in Atlanta

The one market where we are not a visitor, and the one where a tree ordinance now sits in front of the permit.

Where we actually are

This page is about the Atlanta market. It is not our location page. We are based in Atlanta with a verified Google Business Profile, and all of that, covering address, hours and how to reach us, lives on our Atlanta location page. Keeping the two separate is deliberate: one describes a market, the other describes a business.

Key takeaways
  • The owner-occupied median build year is 1976, the citywide 1987 figure understates the homeowner market
  • Atlanta is majority-renter at 46.3% owner-occupancy, with 57.5% of units in multi-unit structures
  • Since June 2025 a pre-submittal arborist meeting gates residential permits
  • The city spans two counties, Fulton and DeKalb
MARKET CONDITIONS

A majority-renter city with a much older owner market than the headline suggests

Atlanta's citywide median year of construction is 1987, which sounds unremarkable until you separate tenure. The owner-occupied median year built is 1976; renter-occupied is 1995. The citywide figure is dragged forward by apartment construction and materially understates the age of the actual homeowner market, the median Atlanta owner-occupied home is roughly fifty years old.

The city is also majority-renter: 46.3% owner-occupancy, with 57.5% of units in structures of two or more. Single-family detached is the largest single category at 36.2% but nowhere near a majority. Any campaign built on an assumption of suburban owner-occupier households is describing a different city.

Atlanta is additionally the only market on this list split across two counties: the city boundary sits in both Fulton and DeKalb, which has practical consequences for anything jurisdiction-dependent.

THE LOCAL DETAIL THAT MATTERS

The tree ordinance now sits in front of the permit

Atlanta has the highest urban tree canopy of any major US city, measured at 47.9% in the Georgia Tech study and 47.1% in the 2014 follow-up. The city has built a permitting regime around it, and as of 25 June 2025 residential applicants must complete a pre-submittal arborist meeting before permit submission. That is a gating item, not a follow-up.

The Tree Protection Ordinance protects hardwoods at six inches DBH and pines at twelve on private property. Removal requires an arborist permit, monetary recompense, two public sign postings and a five-business-day neighbour appeal window, and can trigger five-year survivability reports.

For anyone marketing a fencing, addition or remodeling business here, that converts tree work from a subcontracted afterthought into a schedule-gating item, and it is a question buyers now ask early. None of the other Georgia markets we serve has this.

BY TRADE

What changes trade by trade here

Licensing, permitting and seasonality land differently depending on what you sell. These pages carry the same sourced figures with the trade lens applied.

Roofing marketing in Atlanta →
No state roofing licence, and a tree ordinance that gates the permit before submission.
HVAC marketing in Atlanta →
Conditioned air is licensed from the first dollar, and advertising it is regulated separately.
Fencing marketing in Atlanta →
Unlicensed by the state, and gated by the critical root zone a post hole disturbs.

Atlanta sits inside a wider state picture covering licensing, advertising-disclosure rules and market conditions that apply across Georgia. Read the Georgia market notes.

WHO THIS IS FOR

The businesses we work with in Atlanta

The thread is not industry. It is deal value. Every engagement we take has a customer worth enough that one won job pays for months of the work, and a buying journey long enough that search and AI answers sit inside it.

  • Home services. regional and multi-location HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, fencing, garage door and remodeling companies. This is the vertical where our documented results are
  • High-value legal. firms where a single matter carries real value and the buying journey runs weeks, not minutes
  • Specialty healthcare. multi-location practices and medical aesthetics, where consultation volume and reputation move together
  • Considered-purchase eCommerce. high-AOV, brand-led retail with a researched purchase, rather than commodity or marketplace-dependent selling
How we measure it

Every figure on this page has a source and a date

Where we could not verify something to a primary source, it is absent rather than estimated. That is why some of these market pages are shorter than others, and it is the same standard we apply to a client report.

Our documented results are in home services. We publish the method in full before you pay anything: the six-layer audit, the sampling protocol, a real report with the numbers left in. No ranking guarantees. Just transparent measurement and documented work.

FAIR QUESTIONS

Fair questions about working with us in Atlanta

You are based in Atlanta, is this a location page?

No, and the distinction is deliberate. This page is about the Atlanta market. Our actual premises, hours and Google Business Profile live on our Atlanta location page, which this links to.

Why does the tree ordinance appear on a marketing page?

Because since June 2025 it gates residential permits, which changes project timelines, which changes what buyers ask about. Market substance beats generic copy.

Do you only work with home-services businesses in Atlanta?

No. That is where our documented results are and we say so plainly, but we also work with legal, specialty healthcare and considered-purchase eCommerce firms that meet the same deal-value threshold.
