What is Stage 2, Architecture?
Architecture is stage two of Mindflow Marketing's Entity Integration Framework: the stage where the site is reorganised around the questions buyers actually ask, and formatted so an engine can lift the answer without a person reading the page. Your website gets structured so both people and machines can use it, organised around how customers actually buy.
Most business websites are organised around the org chart: a page per service because that is how the business thinks about itself. Buyers do not arrive thinking in services. They arrive with a situation, a constraint and a question, and the site that answers the question in the shape it was asked is the one that gets used.
Machines add a second requirement on top. An engine extracting an answer needs to find the answer in a form it can lift cleanly, a direct statement near a matching heading, not a claim buried in the fourth paragraph of a page about something else. Architecture is where the site stops being a brochure and becomes a source.
What work happens in the architecture stage?
Four workstreams run in this stage: pages reorganised around real buying paths, the answer to each page's question moved near the top, technical foundations made clean and crawlable, and AI crawler access decided explicitly rather than inherited from whatever the robots.txt already said.
Pages organised around how customers buy
The structure follows real buying paths, by problem, by situation, by market, rather than by internal category. Where a buying question deserves its own page, it gets one, and where two pages compete for the same question, they are merged.
Answer-first formatting
The answer to the page's question appears near the top, stated plainly, before the context and the caveats. This is not a style preference. An engine quoting your page will quote the clearest extractable statement it finds, and if the clearest statement on the page is a competitor's objection you have handled, that is what gets quoted.
Clean technical foundations
Crawlable, fast, correctly canonicalised, sensible internal linking, no orphaned pages, no accidental duplication. None of this wins anything on its own; all of it is capable of quietly preventing everything else from working.
Crawler access opened deliberately
AI crawlers are allowed where their access earns you visibility, and the decision is made explicitly rather than inherited from a default robots.txt someone wrote years ago. Blocking a crawler you meant to allow is one of the few self-inflicted visibility problems.
What does this stage look like for a roofer with eleven service pages?
It looks like merging the pages that compete with each other, building the pages a buyer's situation needs and nobody had written, and moving each page's answer to the top. The site sells the same services afterwards. It is organised around the questions buyers arrive with instead.

A roofing company had eleven pages, one per service, each about 400 words, each opening with a paragraph about the company's commitment to quality. Traffic was flat and nothing ranked above position eight.
Four of the eleven were competing for effectively the same query. The pages a buyer actually needed, insurance claim process, what a roof inspection includes, how storm damage assessment works, did not exist, because none of them is a service the company sells. They are situations a buyer is in.
The restructure merged four pages into one, built three situation pages that had never existed, and moved the answer to each page's question into the first eighty words. The service pages did not get longer. They got clearer, and the site started answering questions in the shape buyers ask them.
How is progress in this stage proven?
Architecture is measurable in two ways: whether the pages a buying question needs actually exist and are indexed, and whether the answer to each page's question is extractable from the page without a human reading it. Both are checked directly rather than inferred from traffic.
Rankings are never guaranteed. Anything we could not trace to a primary source is absent from this page, not estimated. The audit runs the same six layers described on the pricing page, and Share of Answer is scored quarterly.
What is the most common failure at this stage?
The usual failure is building the structure and never pruning. Sites accumulate pages that compete with each other for the same question, and two mediocre pages on one topic reliably lose to one good one. Consolidation is part of this stage, not a later cleanup.
Fair questions
Does this mean rebuilding the site?
Usually not. Most of this is restructuring, consolidating and reformatting what exists. A rebuild is recommended only when the platform itself is the constraint.
What if we just launched a new site?
Then this stage is mostly formatting and linking rather than structure. A recent build does not guarantee answer-first formatting — that is rarely how sites are designed.
Should we block AI crawlers?
That depends on whether you want to be cited. For a local service business the answer is almost always no, but it should be a decision you made, and most robots.txt files were never decided at all.
