Quick answer

What does marketing for a pest control company need to do?

A pest control company works inside people's homes, so it gets checked: its license, its BBB profile and recent reviews. ChatGPT, asked about a named company, cited the same records in most answers, and most "who should I call" answers cited national franchise brands' websites. Marketing has to put you in front of local homeowners and make your services, license and reviews easy to verify.

What makes pest control marketing different?

Pest control runs on recurring plans and on seasons that don't arrive everywhere at once. Your license is checked, national brands crowd the answers, and lead sellers don't always send the work you do. We plan your profile and pages around the services and towns you want.

  • The busy month isn't the same everywhere.Pest searches peak in May nationally but in March in Atlanta, Dallas and Miami. We get your service pages and profile current before your local rush, not after it.
  • Recurring plans are the business.A one-time treatment should turn into a plan. We give each plan its own clear page, and we help you keep reviews coming in all year, not just in the busy months.
  • Your license gets checked. In our study, 1,382 of 1,500 ChatGPT answers about named pest control companies cited a license or registration record, including state agriculture department records. We make sure your license details are accurate and easy to find on your site and profile.
  • Big franchise brands show up in the "who should I call" answers. An independent company needs its own records in order to be compared at all. We start with the ones homeowners and AI tools check first.
  • Bought leads may not match your work. One wildlife-control owner in our research describes being offered leads for one service and ending up with another. We focus your pages on the services you want more of.

Case study

Case study: a fence company, from one county to Metro Atlanta

“What impresses me most is how Youssef takes the time to understand the fencing industry specifically, not just generic marketing.”

Zack GoekjianCEO, Precision Fenceworks

Precision Fenceworks installs and repairs residential and commercial fences in Georgia.

The problem
"we struggled to generate consistent leads online and were invisible in search results."
The work
SEO and web design over an 8-year partnership, plus reputation management.
The results Zack Goekjian (CEO) describes in his testimonial
  • "Within the first year, our website started ranking for competitive keywords like 'Atlanta fence installation' and 'Atlanta fence company'"
  • 250% more qualified leads
  • from 1 county to several across Metro Atlanta
  • from 5 people to 12
  • reputation work that helped maintain a 4.9-star average rating.

Which sources did ChatGPT cite when asked about a named pest control company?

In our October 2026 study, we asked ChatGPT (API, with web search) whether named pest control companies were legitimate and good to hire, two answers per business. Most answers cited the BBB, a license or registration record and the company's own website. When we asked who to call instead, almost every answer cited a national franchise brand's website.

When we asked ChatGPT which pest control companies a homeowner in that city should call, 242 of 250 answers cited a national franchise brand's website, and 88 cited a license or registration source.

What do pest control websites and profiles show?

Across 605 saved pest control homepages, almost all had a click-to-call link and most offered a free estimate or inspection; fewer showed any online booking option. Among companies in the Google Maps top three, the 42 that ChatGPT named when asked who to call had a median of 55.5 new Google reviews in the last 90 days; the 84 it didn't name had 4.

Source: Mindflow research, saved homepages of pest control companies in 50 metros and their newest Google reviews, October 2026, counted from our saved data files, before the study's final review. The 90-day count comes from each company's newest 100 reviews, so it's a floor for very busy profiles: 14 of the 42 named and 4 of the 84 not named. "Named" means ChatGPT (OpenAI API with web search) named the company when asked who to call. An association, not a cause: named businesses also tend to be bigger.

When do pest control searches peak?

Nationally, pest control searches peak in May and are lowest in December. City averages differ: March in Atlanta, Dallas and Miami, July in Raleigh, September in Charlotte and Nashville. We plan around your own market's pattern, not a national calendar, and time new pages and profile updates before your busy months.

FAQ

Questions pest control owners ask

The work

Can you help us sell more recurring plans?
We give each plan a clear page that says what's covered, how often you visit and what it costs if you publish prices, and we help you keep reviews coming in from plan customers all year. Those pages make it easier to choose a plan. We can't promise how many plans you'll sell.
Do you market termite, mosquito or wildlife work separately?
Yes, if you want more of that work. Each service line gets its own page and its own place on your Business Profile, so homeowners searching for it find the right service. How many service lines you want to grow is one of the things that sets your price.
We're a franchise location. Can you work with us?
Often, yes. If your franchise agreement sets rules about websites, profiles or ads, we start from what it allows and work within it, for example with local pages for the plans you sell. We look at your local profile and pages in the free review. If your franchisor runs your website, we focus on your Business Profile, your reviews and the pages you are allowed to change.
When should we start before the busy season?
A few months before your busy months, so new pages and profile updates are in place when searches rise. The table above shows each city's four-year average. Where the peak is in March, that means starting in winter. We agree priorities and timing for your own market.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.

Cost and terms

Should I keep buying pest control leads?
That's your call; they're a different model. Some lead services send the same request to several companies, or send work you don't do. We help generate calls and inspection requests through your own Google Business Profile, website and reviews, and Mindflow doesn't sell or share them.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.

AI and results

How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
