Quick answer

What does a Houston home-service website have to handle?

A Houston home-service website has to work across a huge metro and through busy seasons. A customer in Katy and one in Pearland are looking for a company that serves their area, so your site needs clear pages for the parts of the metro you actually cover.

Year-round AC calls and storm-and-flood work mean your seasonal pages have to be live before the rush, not built during it. Mindflow builds websites only for home-service and contracting companies, and plans the pages around the jobs and areas you want more of. Ongoing search work is a separate plan: SEO for Houston home-service companies.

What were Houston contractor websites missing in our study?

Town pages were the clearest gap in our Houston sample of about 100 contractor sites: 25 of 108 crawled sites had three or more town or service-area pages, against 1,501 of 5,072 across all 50 metros. Most also had no reviews page; 40 of 108 had one.

Nearly every Houston homepage in the sample had a call link. Far fewer gave each part of the metro its own page or gathered reviews in one place. In a metro this spread out, those are the pages that tell a customer you work near them and do good work there.

Which pages should a Houston home-service site have?

A Houston home-service site needs a page for each service you want more of, separate pages where a repair and a replacement are different decisions, storm and flood pages if you do that work, town pages for the areas you cover, a reviews page and an about page with your license.

PageWhat the Houston customer checks there
A page per service (AC repair, water heaters, roof repair, water extraction)Do you do this exact job, and how fast?
Separate repair and replacement pagesShould I fix it or replace it, and can I trust your advice?
Storm and flood pages, if you do that workCan you help after a storm, and what happens first?
Town pages for Pearland, Spring or Conroe, where you have real jobsDo you serve my part of the metro?
ReviewsHave people like me hired you, and what happened?
About, with your license and how long you've been in businessIs this an established, licensed company?

Your proposal lists the exact pages. You don't need a page for every suburb on day one. Start where you work most and add areas as you finish jobs there. Trade-specific plans are on our pages for HVAC websites and roofing websites.

How should Houston customers reach you, day or night?

Houston customers with no AC or a leaking roof want to call now. Others are planning a replacement and would rather send a request. Your site should serve both: a call button on every page, a clear note on after-hours service if you offer it, and a short form for jobs that can wait.

  • Call button on every page, visible without scrolling on a phone.
  • After-hours service stated clearly, if you offer it, near the call button and on the services it covers.
  • A short request formservice, area, timing and an optional photo.
  • Booking for planned work, such as maintenance or estimates, if you take bookings online.
  • Call and form tracking in your accounts, so you know which pages make the phone ring.

How long does a Houston website take, and what do we need from you?

The website build timeline is 3–6 weeks, depending on how many service and area pages your site needs. It runs in six steps: discovery, architecture, design, development, testing and SEO, then launch. Each step is described on our website design page. Have these ready to keep it moving:

  • The parts of the metro you serve, and the ones you'd rather not drive to.
  • Your services, split by repair and replacement where they're different jobs for you.
  • Photos from real Houston-area jobs, plus your techs and trucks; we'd use those over stock images.
  • License numbers for each trade you hold, matched to the business name on record.
  • Your review profiles and access to your domain and current site.

We can write the copy; you check it for accuracy.

Case study

Case study: a fence company, from one county to Metro Atlanta

The problem

"we struggled to generate consistent leads online and were invisible in search results."

The work

SEO and web design over an 8-year partnership, plus reputation management.

The results Zack Goekjian (CEO) describes in his testimonial
  • "Within the first year, our website started ranking for competitive keywords like 'Atlanta fence installation' and 'Atlanta fence company'"
  • 250% more qualified leads
  • from 1 county to several across Metro Atlanta
  • from 5 people to 12
  • reputation work that helped maintain a 4.9-star average rating.

These are Zack's own figures from his testimonial, not numbers we measured. Results depend on your market and starting point.

What does a website cost for a Houston company?

A website from Mindflow starts at $5,000, and larger sites start at $8,500. In a big metro, the price mostly depends on how many service and area pages your site needs. You get the exact price in writing before work starts, and no marketing contract is required.

It's a one-time project price, and the website files and copy are yours once paid. What moves the price is covered in what a website costs for a service business.

What clients say

"Mindflow Marketing has been our digital partner for 8 years, and they've been instrumental in transforming Precision Fenceworks from a small local operation to the established fence company we are today. … What impresses me most is how Youssef takes the time to understand the fencing industry specifically, not just generic marketing. I'd recommend Mindflow Marketing to any home service business looking for a digital partner who delivers measurable results and genuinely cares about your business growth."

Questions Houston owners ask about websites

Should a Houston HVAC site make after-hours service obvious?

If you offer it, yes. In our study, 66 of 92 Houston contractor homepages stated emergency or 24/7 service, against 2,810 of 4,433 across all 50 metros. Say it near the call button and on the service pages it covers, and say plainly what's included, so customers don't call expecting something you don't do.

What makes a Houston-area town page worth building?

Real work in that area. A good page for Pearland or League City shows jobs you've done there, names the services you offer there and answers the questions customers there ask. A page that only swaps the town name helps no one. If you rarely work somewhere, list it on a service-area page instead.

When should a Houston roofing or restoration company launch a new site?

Well before storm and flood season, not during it. Storm and flood work brings a rush of roofing, water damage and restoration searches, and those pages need to be live and tested before customers need them. With a 3–6 week build, start well before storm season so the site is live and tested ahead of it.

Our Houston site gets calls but few online requests across the metro. Do we need a rebuild?

Not necessarily. If the site loads well on a phone and has the right pages, the problem is often the form or where the proof sits. Conversion work on your current site may be enough. We'll tell you which we'd recommend before you spend on a new site.

Should a Houston website say how long the company has been in business?

Yes, if it's a strength. In our study, 64 of 92 Houston contractor homepages gave a "since" year or years in business, against 3,103 of 4,433 across all 50 metros. Put it on the homepage and the about page, together with your license and real photos of your team.
