Which basics did Boston contractor homepages skip, starting with the call link?
The call link, for a start. 15 of 76 Boston homepages in our study, about 90 businesses, had no click-to-call link; across all 50 metros, 3,941 of 4,433 homepages had one. Town pages were scarce too, on 18 of 95 crawled sites against 1,501 of 5,072, and financing was mentioned on 17 of 76 homepages against 1,680 of 4,433.

Homepage features out of 76 homepages; site features out of 95 crawled sites. These counts show what was present, not whether it worked. Full study · Method.
For a Boston company, the opening is plain: a call link on every page, a page for each town where you have real work, and a financing line if you offer it. None of those is hard to build, and each one answers a question a customer has before calling.
