Quick answer

What does marketing for a tree service company need to do?

Tree work comes in two ways: a homeowner with a tree on the roof who needs someone now, and a homeowner planning trimming or a removal who compares estimates. Marketing for a tree service company has to win both: be reachable fast for the urgent call, and show the planner proof worth waiting for.

What makes tree service marketing different?

Tree work is urgent one day and planned the next, the jobs are large and risky, and buyers want to know who'll be working above their house. We plan your profile and pages so urgent removals, planned trimming and the credentials buyers check each have a clear place.

  • Removal and trimming are different searches.Nationally, "tree removal" and "tree trimming" each average about 33,100 searches a month. One buyer is often worried about damage; the other is planning. Each gets its own page, photos and request path.
  • Storms don't keep a calendar. You can't schedule the next storm, so your emergency page and Business Profile hours need to be right before it arrives, not after.
  • Credentials get checked.Buyers want proof of who's doing the work. If your team includes ISA Certified Arborists, we show the credential accurately and link the listing where it can be verified.
  • Big jobs sell on photos.A large removal is a big decision. Real photos of your crew and finished work, by job type and town, do more than stock images.
  • Commercial and HOA work is a different buyer.Property managers and HOA boards compare bids and check records. If you want that work, it gets its own page and proof.

How many people search for tree service, and when?

Across the US, "tree service" averages about 90,500 Google searches a month, and "tree removal" and "tree trimming" about 33,100 each. On a four-year average June is the busiest month and December the quietest, but the busiest month jumped around: July in 2023, October in 2024 and March in 2025.

The single biggest month in four years was October 2024, about 1.7 times the median month. Search data doesn't say why a month jumps, so we don't plan around a fixed peak. We keep your pages and profile ready all year and do the larger updates in the quietest months, which were November to January in recent years.

Quick answer

How do you market storm removal and planned trimming differently?

Emergency removal is won by being findable and reachable right away; planned trimming is won by proof and an easy estimate request. We give each its own page and its own services on your Business Profile, so an urgent caller sees how to reach you now and a planner sees your work and reviews.

For urgent removals: a page for emergency and storm-damage removal that says what you handle and which towns you reach, a click-to-call link at the top, and Business Profile hours that match when you actually answer. When a storm is forecast, we can update your profile and that page before the calls start.

For planned work: pages for trimming and pruning, planned removal and stump grinding (only the services you offer), with your photos by job type and town, and an estimate form that asks only what you need on a phone.

What this means for you: the calls a storm brings go to the companies people can reach and trust in that moment. The time to build that is between storms.

How do buyers and AI answers check a tree service?

They look for proof of who's doing the work: reviews, your own website, and records such as credentials, licenses and the BBB. In our October 2026 study of 8 other home-service trades (tree service wasn't one of them), ChatGPT's answers about named contractors cited exactly those kinds of sources in most answers.

When asked if a named contractor in those trades was legit, ChatGPT's answers cited the BBB in 10,582 of 11,982, a government or licensing site in 10,288 and the company's own site in 9,557. A tree company's site is where credentials, insurance details and job photos can sit together, which is why we start there. Background: how ChatGPT checks a contractor.

For tree work, the best-known credential is the International Society of Arboriculture's (ISA) Certified Arborist. It requires at least three years of full-time experience in arboriculture, or a mix of education and experience, plus a 200-question exam. It's valid for three years, then renewed by exam or 30 continuing education units. ISA runs a public directory to find and verify credential holders; listing is voluntary. If your team holds it, we name it accurately and link the listing. If not, we never imply it.

What goes on a tree service company's website and profile?

A tree buyer is looking for proof you do their kind of job, in their area, safely, and an easy way to ask. These come first for a tree company, whether your site is new or ten years old. Most of it is pages and profile work, not a rebuild.

  1. Separate pages for each service you want more ofemergency removal, planned removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding.
  2. Town pages for the areas you want to work, each with a job or two from that town.
  3. Your credentials and records as text, such as ISA certification and any license your state requires, matching the official record.
  4. A call button and an estimate request that work on a phone, with call and form tracking checked.
  5. A review request after every job, sent from your own system, so recent reviews keep coming between storms. We draft replies; you approve them, or let them post once you trust the drafts.
  6. Answers to the questions buyers askwho cleans up, how long a removal takes and whether a permit might be needed, in general terms with a pointer to the local office.

What clients say

"Mindflow Marketing has been our digital partner for 8 years, and they've been instrumental in transforming Precision Fenceworks from a small local operation to the established fence company we are today. … What impresses me most is how Youssef takes the time to understand the fencing industry specifically, not just generic marketing. I'd recommend Mindflow Marketing to any home service business looking for a digital partner who delivers measurable results and genuinely cares about your business growth."

FAQ

Questions tree service owners ask

The work

Have you worked with tree service companies before?
Our published client story is Precision Fenceworks, a Georgia fence company we've worked with for 8 years. We haven't published a tree service story, and our 50-metro study doesn't cover the trade. For tree work we start from the split shown above, removal versus trimming, and from who shows up for each in your towns. The free review shows your Maps position and what AI answers say about you.
Can you get us more storm work?
We can make sure you're ready when it comes: an emergency removal page, accurate profile hours and a call button that works on a phone. We can't predict storms or promise how many calls you'll get. If paid ads fit your storm plan, we scope them in your proposal.
Our team has no ISA Certified Arborist. Is that a problem for marketing?
No. We show the training, experience and records you do have, accurately, and never imply a credential you don't hold. If someone on the team earns it later, we add it with the ISA listing. Whether your state requires a license for tree work is a question for your state board; we don't give legal advice.
Do you market commercial and HOA tree work?
Yes, if you want it. Property managers and HOA boards want commercial projects, the services you handle across a site and records they can check, so that work gets its own page and photos. Tell us which mix you want when you request the free review.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.

Cost and terms

Do you sell tree service leads?
No. A lead service can pass the same removal request to several tree companies at once. Calls that come from your own Business Profile, website and reviews come to you alone, and Mindflow doesn't sell or share them. If you're weighing the two, our leads and ads guides compare the options.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.

AI and results

How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
