Quick answer

What does marketing for a landscaping company need to do?

It has to bring in two kinds of customer: people who want their lawn kept up every week and people planning a one-time project. Both check that you serve their town, look at your work and read reviews. Good landscaping marketing shows each service clearly, proves your work locally and makes the estimate request easy on a phone.

What makes landscaping marketing different?

Landscaping mixes recurring service with one-off projects, runs on a season that shifts a little each year, and in many states involves licensed pesticide work. Homeowners, property managers and HOA boards buy differently. We plan your pages and Business Profile around the work you want more of, not a generic template.

  • Maintenance and installs are different searches."Landscaping" draws about 165,000 US searches a month, and "landscaper" and "lawn care service" about 110,000 each. Someone looking for weekly mowing isn't shopping like someone planning a patio and new plantings. Each gets its own page, its own photos and its own place on your Business Profile.
  • Recurring customers are worth keeping.A maintenance customer can stay for years. We give each maintenance plan a clear page and help you ask for reviews all season, not only after big projects.
  • The season moves.April was the busiest month for US landscaping searches in each of the last three years, and in 2025 May tied it. We get pages and profile updates in place before your busy months.
  • Pesticide work needs a license. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that most states require licensing for workers who apply pesticides. In Florida, for example, the limited landscape maintenance certificate covers plant beds and ornamental plants, not lawns. If you're licensed, we show it plainly on your site and profile.
  • Commercial and HOA work is its own buyer.Property managers and HOA boards compare scope, insurance and reliability. If you want that work, it gets a page written for them.
  • Google has ad categories for this trade.Google lists "Landscaping services" and "Lawn care services" among its Local Services Ads categories. Whether ads make sense for a spring rush or for year-round maintenance sign-ups is a case-by-case call; our Local Services Ads guide explains how they work.

Sources: US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Grounds Maintenance Workers; Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, certification requirements for commercial landscape maintenance operators; Google Local Services Ads help; all read October 29, 2026. What goes on a landscaping company's website?

A landscaping buyer wants proof you do their kind of work in their area, and an easy way to ask for a price or start service. These are the pages and proof we build or improve first. Your site doesn't need to be new; it needs maintenance and installation work shown separately, with your own photos.

  1. A page for each service you want more oflawn care, maintenance plans, installation and design, hardscaping or irrigation, each with your own photos.
  2. Pages for the towns you serve, with projects there you're happy to show.
  3. An estimate or service request that works on a phone and asks only what you need. We check that calls and forms are tracked.
  4. Your license and insurance details where your state or your buyers expect them.
  5. An honest review-request process, with replies under the approval setting you choose.

Case study

Case study: a fence company, from one county to Metro Atlanta

The problem

"we struggled to generate consistent leads online and were invisible in search results."

The work

SEO and web design over an 8-year partnership, plus reputation management.

The results Zack Goekjian (CEO) describes in his testimonial
  • "Within the first year, our website started ranking for competitive keywords like 'Atlanta fence installation' and 'Atlanta fence company'"
  • 250% more qualified leads
  • from 1 county to several across Metro Atlanta
  • from 5 people to 12
  • reputation work that helped maintain a 4.9-star average rating.

These are Zack's own figures from his testimonial, not numbers we measured. Results depend on your market and starting point.

Which sources did ChatGPT cite when asked about a named landscaping company?

Mostly the company's own website, then other business and media sites, government or licensing sources and the BBB. In a separate October 2026 check in five cities, we asked ChatGPT (OpenAI API with web search) about named landscaping companies, 150 answers in all. Lead-service sites were rarely cited.

What this means for you: keep your website, license details and BBB profile accurate and consistent, because those are the sources these answers leaned on. Across the eight trades in our 50-metro study, ChatGPT named 352 of the 1,183 businesses in the Google Maps top three when asked who to call, so a top map spot doesn't carry over by itself. More in what ChatGPT checks before recommending a contractor.

How many people search for "landscaping" in your city?

Houston leads the ten cities we checked, with about 1,900 searches a month for "landscaping" inside city limits; Miami and Nashville follow at about 1,000 each. Suburbs aren't counted, so a metro's total is larger. Searches aren't booked jobs, but they show where homeowners are looking.

When do landscaping searches peak?

In spring. US landscaping searches were highest in April in 2023 and 2024, and in April and May (tied) in 2025. The quietest month was November or December. Over four years, the busiest month averaged about 2.3 times the quietest. We time new pages and profile updates for before your busy months, not during them.

Mindflow is run by its founder, Youssef Hodaigui, who has done SEO since 2004.

  2. One plan, not five vendors.

SEO, AI answers, reviews and conversion work are planned together, so nothing falls between agencies.

  3. Built for home-service companies.

We've worked with a Georgia fence company for 8 years. Read what its CEO says below.

What clients say

"Mindflow Marketing has been our digital partner for 8 years, and they've been instrumental in transforming Precision Fenceworks from a small local operation to the established fence company we are today. … What impresses me most is how Youssef takes the time to understand the fencing industry specifically, not just generic marketing. I'd recommend Mindflow Marketing to any home service business looking for a digital partner who delivers measurable results and genuinely cares about your business growth."

Before we talk

Questions landscaping companies ask

Can you help us sell more maintenance contracts, not just one-off jobs?
We give each maintenance plan a clear page that says what's included, how often you visit and which towns you cover, and we help you keep reviews coming from maintenance customers through the season. Those pages make the choice easier for a homeowner or property manager. We can't promise how many contracts you'll sign.
Do you market commercial and HOA maintenance separately?
Yes, if you want that work. Property managers and HOA boards look for scope, insurance and reliability, so commercial maintenance gets its own page and its own service on your Business Profile. How many service lines you want to grow is one of the things that sets your price.
Have you worked with landscaping companies before?
Our published client story is Precision Fenceworks, a Georgia fence company we've worked with for 8 years; its CEO describes the results on this page. We haven't published a landscaping story. In the free review we look at your own market: how you show for "landscaping" and "lawn care service" searches in your towns, your Business Profile, your reviews and what ChatGPT says about you.
Should I keep buying landscaping leads?
That's your call; it's a different model. A lead service can send the same request to several companies, even when it's for weekly maintenance you'd hope to keep for seasons. We help generate calls and estimate requests through your own Google Business Profile, website and reviews, and Mindflow doesn't sell or share those inquiries. Your monthly report shows what your tracking records.
When should we start before the spring rush?
A few months before it, so new pages and profile updates are live when searches rise. April was the busiest month in each of the last three years, so that usually means starting in winter. If you offer winter work such as snow removal, it can have its own page. We agree priorities and timing for your market.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
