Which pages does a landscaping website need?
A landscaping site needs separate pages for recurring service and for projects, photos of your own installs, and a town page only where you have customers. Landscaping wasn't one of the trades in our website crawl, so this page map comes from what landscaping buyers search and from Google's own rules.
| Page | What it answers | What it needs |
|---|
| Lawn care and maintenance plans | Searches like "lawn care service" and "lawn mowing near me" | What each visit includes, how often you come, which towns you cover, how to start service |
| Design and installation | Searches like "landscaping" and "landscaper" | Your own project photos, how a project runs from design to planting |
| Hardscaping | Searches like "patio installation" or "retaining wall" | Finished patios and walls, materials you work with |
| Irrigation | Searches like "sprinkler repair" | Repair and install work, seasonal start-up and shut-off if you offer them |
| Commercial and HOA maintenance | Searches like "commercial landscaping" | Scope, crew size, insurance, the kinds of properties you maintain |
| Seasonal work | Cleanups or snow removal, where you offer them | When the service runs and how to book it |
| Town pages | Searches like "landscaper in [town]" | Customers or projects in that town, only where you work |
Google's rules set the limits. Its spam policies list "pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse. Your Business Profile can list up to 20 service areas, and Google says the overall area shouldn't extend farther than about 2 hours of driving from your base. Also, a seasonal business can set seasonal hours or mark itself temporarily closed in the off-season.
If the site itself needs rebuilding, that's a separate project; see landscaping website design. Those pages also feed AI answers: in our 5-city check, ChatGPT (the OpenAI API with web search) cited the company's own website in 138 of 150 answers about named landscaping companies. The full source list is on our landscaping marketing page.
