Orlando AI Search Optimization for Home-Service Contractors

When Orlando homeowners ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews or AI Mode who to call, Mindflow works to make the facts those answers check about your company accurate. In our October 2026 checks, ChatGPT skipped every Orlando HVAC company in the Maps top three but named two Maps leaders in roofing. Your Florida license record is one of the things those answers check. AI search work is included in every SEO plan.

What did ChatGPT say about Orlando's HVAC companies?

It named none of the three HVAC businesses at the top of Google Maps. When we asked which Orlando HVAC companies a homeowner should call, ChatGPT's five answers named 21 different companies, including 2 of the 3 in Google's local pack, but not the Maps leaders.

The rest of the metro, from the same checks:

  • Maps top three named by ChatGPT7 of 24 across eight trades (352 of 1,183 across all 50 metros in the study).
  • Local pack named by ChatGPT11 of 24, with 1 name unresolved.
  • Maps top three also in the local pack11 of 24.
  • On all three lists3 of 24.
  • Trades where ChatGPT named 2 of 3 Maps leadersroofing and garage door.
  • Trades where it named noneHVAC, electrical and water damage.

Across all 50 metros, ChatGPT named 40 of 149 HVAC Maps leaders, so Orlando's zero is a local result, not a national pattern.

Source: Mindflow Home-Service Visibility Study, Orlando checked October 3 and 4, 2026, one search day per trade. "Maps top three" is the first three Google Maps results at a fixed city point; the local pack is the map box inside Google's regular results. ChatGPT means the OpenAI API with web search, asked five times which companies a homeowner should call; "named" means named at least once. Counts from one sample, not rankings or predictions. No business is named. How the study was run.

Certified or registered: what does your Florida license record tell an AI answer?

It tells anyone who looks it up where you're allowed to work. Under Florida law, a certified contractor holds a state certificate of competency and can work in any Florida jurisdiction. A registered contractor can work only in the local jurisdiction where the registration was issued. Both show on DBPR's public license search.

That difference matters in a metro that spans several counties. If your record is a local registration and your site advertises towns outside it, the two sources disagree, and AI answers that check you by name cite license records often. In our national study, answers about whether a named HVAC company was legitimate cited a government or licensing site in 1,243 of 1,500 answers.

For HVAC companies, the license class matters too. Florida's air-conditioning licenses come in classes: Class A is unlimited, Class B covers systems up to 25 tons of cooling and 500,000 Btu of heating, and Class C, held only by contractors licensed by October 1, 1988, covers servicing. Your site should state the class you hold, the way the record shows it.

Sources: Florida Statutes 489.105 (definitions of certified and registered contractor, and air-conditioning contractor classes A, B and C); DBPR Licensee Search at myfloridalicense.com (search by name, license number, city or county, or license type); both read November 1, 2026. Not legal advice; confirm where your license lets you work with DBPR and your local building department.

Do your service areas match your license?

They should, everywhere they're listed. Google lets a Business Profile list up to 20 service areas and says the overall area shouldn't extend more than about 2 hours of driving from where you're based. Within that, list only the towns your license and your crews really cover.

What we check for an Orlando company:

  • Business Profile service areas match the towns on your site and the reach of your license.
  • Town pages exist only where you've done real jobs and can legally work.
  • Your license line(certified or registered, class, number) appears on your site the way DBPR shows it.
  • Your BBB profile and directory listings use the same name, phone and service area.

All of this is part of the AI search work in every SEO plan; the full scope is on our AI search optimization page.

Questions about AI search in Orlando

We're a registered contractor. Can our pages list towns outside our registration?
Under Florida Statutes 489.105, a registered contractor may work only in the jurisdiction where the registration was issued. Advertising towns outside it puts your site and your public record at odds, and that's the kind of mismatch anyone checking you can see. Confirm your reach with DBPR and your local building department first. Not legal advice.
Do AI answers check HVAC manufacturer certifications?
Sometimes. In our national study, answers checking whether a named HVAC company was legitimate cited a manufacturer, certification or trade-body source in 411 of 1,500 answers, far fewer than license records (1,243). If you hold a manufacturer certification, name it exactly as the manufacturer does. License records were cited more often.
Does our air-conditioning license class matter for AI answers?
It matters for accuracy. The class on your DBPR record (A, B or C) defines the size of system you can work on. If your site describes work your class doesn't cover, the record and the site disagree. State the class plainly on your license line and on pages for larger commercial systems. Not legal advice.
ChatGPT named no Orlando electricians from the Maps top three. Which record should an electrician show?
In our October 3, 2026 check, ChatGPT named none of the 3 Orlando electricians leading Google Maps but 2 of the 3 in the local pack. Florida electrical contractors are licensed through DBPR's Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board, not the construction board. Show your license number on your site exactly as that record shows it. Not legal advice.
Do we need a separate Business Profile for each Central Florida county we serve?
Usually not. Google lets one profile list up to 20 service areas, cities or ZIP codes, within about 2 hours of driving from where you're based. One accurate profile with the right areas is usually clearer than several. We set your service areas to match your license and the towns on your site.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
