Water Damage Restoration PPC
A restoration ad pays only if someone answers at 2 a.m., and only if it promises nothing the law or the policy decides. When Google Ads or Local Services Ads fit your market, we scope them in your proposal with the rest of your program. The accounts stay yours, and ad spend goes to Google.

How do Google Ads and Local Services Ads work for a restoration company?
Both put you in front of a homeowner with water on the floor. Google Ads charges per click or call tap and sends people to your page or your phone. Local Services Ads charge per lead and show your Google Verified profile under Google's "Water damage services" category. Restoration calls are urgent, so either one pays only if someone answers.
What's specific to restoration:
- One Local Services category covers the work.Google's Local Services category list has "Water damage services" and no separate mold, fire or restoration category. Mold or fire work you want to advertise is better handled in Google Ads campaigns with their own pages.
- Jobs arrive without warning.A burst pipe or a storm doesn't book ahead, so a budget needs room to rise fast and a monthly limit you can live with.
- Insurance wording needs care. Some states limit what a contractor's ad can promise about the claim, so insurance lines get the same scrutiny as prices.
Our program pairs SEO, with AI search optimization included, with your Business Profile, reviews and conversion work. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. For how each platform works in general, see our Google Ads handbook and Local Services Ads guide.

What does Google check for water damage Local Services Ads?
The core checks most trades get, plus certification. Google's US requirements list business and owner background checks, registration, general liability insurance and state licenses for water damage, and IICRC certification, each for "select users." Google adds that certified professionals may still need other licenses, and that some states license mold work separately.
| Check | What Google lists | What to have ready |
|---|---|---|
| Background | Business check and owner check (select users) | Owner and business details |
| Registration | Business check and business representative check (select users) | Registration in the name you advertise under |
| Insurance | General liability insurance (select users) | A current certificate in that same name |
| License | State business and owner licenses, where local law requires (select users) | License records that match your business name |
| Certification | IICRC certification (select users); certified professionals "may need additional licenses to repair water damage issues" | Current certificates; see IICRC certification |
| Mold | "Professionals in some states may need additional licenses to perform mold remediation or assessment services" | Your state's mold license, if you advertise mold work |
One platform rule matters most here: you "may only accept the type of work that you are licensed, insured, and able to complete." If your state licenses mold remediation and you don't hold that license, mold searches don't belong in your job types or campaigns.
Your landing page should answer the license question too. In our website study, only 190 of 445 restoration homepages mentioned being "licensed."

What can water damage ads say about insurance?
Less than many restoration ads promise. Texas makes it illegal for a contractor to offer to waive, rebate or absorb a policyholder's deductible, and bars advertising that a contractor will also act as the adjuster. Florida voided assignments of post-loss benefits under property policies issued on or after January 1, 2023. Check your state first. Not legal advice.
| Ad line | The problem | Source |
|---|---|---|
| "We'll cover your deductible," "No out-of-pocket cost" | In Texas it's illegal for a contractor to offer to waive, rebate or absorb a property policyholder's deductible | Texas Department of Insurance; Business and Commerce Code 27.02 |
| "We handle your claim," "We deal with the adjuster for you" | Texas doesn't allow a contractor to act as a public adjuster on property it works on, or to advertise that it will | Texas Department of Insurance; Texas Insurance Code 4102.163 |
| "Sign over your benefits and pay nothing" | In Florida, an attempt to assign post-loss benefits under a residential or commercial property policy issued on or after January 1, 2023 is "void, invalid, and unenforceable" | Florida Statutes 627.7152(13) |
| "Free inspection," then charges the homeowner didn't expect | Google bans "low estimates that trick customers into booking services" and requires diagnostic charges and trip fees to be disclosed | Google's Local Services policies |
What a homeowner needs from the ad is simpler: that you answer now, what happens on the first visit, and how working with their insurer goes. Our restoration marketing page explains how we present insurance on your pages; Mindflow doesn't handle claims.
Law: Texas Department of Insurance, Roofing and insurance: know the law (last updated March 24, 2025; its deductible rule refers to contractors generally); Florida Statutes § 627.7152 (2026). Google: Local Services platform policies. All read November 1, 2026. Not legal advice.
How do you keep emergency ad costs under control?
Three settings decide most of it: whether someone answers at night, how fast spend can climb in a storm week, and what clicks cost in your own towns. Each has a Google rule behind it, and none needs a borrowed cost-per-click table, which is where many restoration ad pitches start.
- Night calls on Local Services Ads.Google charges a missed call in business hours as a lead once the caller stays past 20 seconds. Those hours come from your Business Profile, and a new ad schedule starts at "All day." Put 24 hours on the profile, let nights go to voicemail, and you pay for those calls. Restoration sites make that promise widely: 430 of 445 homepages in our study stated emergency service. When Google shifts your LSA account into Google Ads (it began with select storefront advertisers in August 2026; service-area businesses follow in late 2026, other categories in 2027), the schedule comes across, the weekly budget becomes a daily one, manual per-lead bidding ends and Google no longer asks for license or insurance reverification, so recheck nights and hours after the move (Local Services Ads).
- Storm weeks on Google Ads.Google says a day's spend can reach up to twice your average daily budget, and the month is capped at 30.4 times that budget. A busy week can use the month early, so set the monthly figure you can afford and raise it on purpose.
- Your own click prices.Keyword Planner's top-of-page bid range for the towns you serve runs from about the 20th to the 80th percentile of what advertisers there have historically paid. It's your market, from Google, instead of a figure from someone else's accounts.
Answering fast matters as much as answering at all; our speed to lead guide covers why.

What should you ask before hiring a restoration ads company?
Of seven water damage PPC agency pages we reviewed on November 1, 2026, one said the client owns the ad account, one warned against promising deductible waivers or claim approval, and two recommended "we bill insurance direct" style lines. Ask any company that pitches you these five questions, and keep the answers in writing.
| Ask | What to listen for |
|---|---|
| Who owns the tracking numbers on our ads and pages? | Your business, so call history stays with you |
| Who reviews insurance wording in our ads against our state's rules? | A named person, before launch and whenever copy changes |
| Which services will run, and do we hold the licenses for each? | Only work you're licensed and insured for, with mold and fire split out |
| What happens to spend in a storm week? | A monthly limit you set, and a call before anyone raises it |
| Who answers the night calls the ads bring? | A named answering plan, with Business Profile hours that match it |

Questions about water damage restoration PPC
- Should mold and fire damage have their own ads?
- If you do that work and hold any license your state requires, yes. Google's Local Services category is water damage services, and Google notes that some states license mold remediation separately. On Google Ads, separate campaigns sent to separate pages let each service match its own searches and budget, so a mold job doesn't disappear inside your water damage numbers.
- Can our ads say we work with insurance?
- Saying you work with the homeowner's insurer, if you do, is a fact buyers want. The trouble starts when an ad promises what the law or the policy decides: covering the deductible, acting as the adjuster, or taking an assignment of benefits where it's void. Check your state's rules before launch. Not legal advice.
- Should our ads show outside our service area?
- Only where a truck can get there in time. For Local Services Ads you choose cities, counties or neighborhoods and can exclude postal codes. Google says your ads can also reach people interested in businesses like yours in your area, such as someone elsewhere whose search names a town in your service area, so keep the area to places you'll serve.
- Do missed calls hurt our Local Services ranking?
- They can. Google says that if you regularly miss calls or messages, your ad ranking may be affected, and a missed call during business hours can still be charged as a lead. So the coverage plan comes before the budget: who answers at night, on weekends and when every crew is out on a job.
- How long does SEO take?
- Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
- Do you guarantee rankings?
- No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
- Is AI SEO extra?
- No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
- Am I locked into a contract?
- The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
- Who owns my accounts and website?
- You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
- Will you work with my competitor?
- No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
- Do I need a new website?
- Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
- Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
- Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
