What does SEO do for an HVAC company?

SEO for an HVAC company is the work that gets you found when a system fails and when a homeowner starts shopping for a new one: AC calls in summer, heating calls in winter. It covers the Google map, the regular results and AI answers like Google's AI Overviews and ChatGPT, with pages and profile updates timed to each season.

Homeowners look for an HVAC company in three ways:

  • The service and the place"AC repair near me" or "furnace repair in [your town]," often on a phone.
  • The mapthe three companies Google shows first, with their reviews, hours and photos.
  • Your nameafter a referral or a truck they saw, they look you up to check you're licensed and well reviewed.

How HVAC demand splits between summer and winter in each city, and what homeowners and AI tools check, is on our HVAC marketing page.

Which searches bring HVAC customers?

HVAC searches follow two seasons: AC repair in summer and furnace repair in winter. Across the US, "AC repair" averages about 368,000 searches a month in Google's estimates and "furnace repair" about 201,000. Each search happens in one town, so the work is getting found for both seasons' services in the towns you serve.

Which pages does an HVAC website need?

An HVAC site needs a page for each service you want more of, in both seasons, and a town page only where you have real work to show. In our crawl of 633 HVAC sites, 489 had five or more service pages and 224 had three or more location pages. Most homepages named the trade in their title tag; fewer named a city.

On HVAC sites in our researchCount
Five or more service pages (of 633 sites)489
Three or more location or service-area pages (of 633)224
Homepage title names the trade (of 554 with a title)523
Homepage title names a city (of 554)389
LocalBusiness schema on the homepage (of 549)337

For HVAC, separate AC and furnace pages stay live all year and get updated before their season.

Across all eight trades in our study, Maps top-three businesses that ChatGPT also named more often had three or more location pages (142 of 323 sites) than those it didn't name (156 of 752). LocalBusiness schema on the homepage didn't separate the two groups (139 of 298 homepages vs 352 of 648). For HVAC, ChatGPT named 40 of the 149 companies in the Maps top three, so a map spot and an AI mention are separate results, and we work on both.

An association, not a cause: named businesses also tend to be bigger. ChatGPT counts: Mindflow Home-Service Visibility Study, 50 US metros, October 3–17, 2026; ChatGPT means the OpenAI API with web search, asked which companies a homeowner should call. What should you ask before hiring an HVAC SEO company?

Of nine agency pages that ranked for HVAC SEO and marketing searches in Google's US results on October 21, 2026, five stated contract terms and two said who owns the accounts. Ask any HVAC SEO company, us included, these five questions, and get the answers in writing.

AskWhat a straight answer sounds like
Who owns the accounts and the website?Everything in your name, and you keep it if you leave.
How long am I committed?A short fixed start, then month to month, in writing.
Will you work with another HVAC company in my area?A clear yes or no for your area, not "it depends."
What do you do before each season?Heating and cooling pages and your profile updated before the season turns, not after.
How will we know which calls came from search?Call and form tracking checked at the start, and a monthly report of what it records.

Our answers on ownership, commitment and competitors are in the questions at the end of this page. You deal with Youssef Hodaigui directly: calls and texts are answered as they come in, emails usually within hours.

Questions about HVAC SEO

How much does HVAC SEO cost?
With Mindflow, plans start at $2,800 a month for one metro, $4,500 for a metro and the cities around it, and $8,500 for three or more metros. Your price depends on how competitive HVAC is in your market and how many services you want to grow. There's no setup fee, and you get your exact price in writing first. See plans and prices.
Can one Business Profile show up for both HVAC and plumbing?
Yes. A Business Profile has one primary category and can add others, so a company that does both can list heating, cooling and plumbing services on one profile. Each service line still needs its own pages on your site. One plan covers both; how many service lines you want to grow is one of the two things that set your price. See plumbing SEO.
Why build pages around "AC repair" and not "HVAC"?
Of the three HVAC searches we measured, the two job searches are far bigger than the trade search. In Google's US estimates, "AC repair" averages about 368,000 searches a month and "furnace repair" about 201,000, against about 74,000 for "HVAC repair." So your pages and profile services use the words homeowners type, one page per service, with "HVAC" in the supporting text.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
