Quick answer

How does a carpet cleaner win a booking online?

By making the price believable and the visit predictable. Before booking, a homeowner wants to know what a room price includes, who will come and whether they're certified, how long drying takes, and that someone nearby fixed a problem like theirs. Marketing puts those answers on your site and Business Profile and makes booking quick on a phone.

What changes the marketing for a carpet cleaning company?

Three things: how you price, how buyers check you and how often the same customer comes back. Most jobs start from a room price, the record buyers and AI answers lean on is certification, and a home might book once a year while an office books on a schedule. Your pages and profile should be built around all three.

  • The room price is the first thing they compare. If you advertise per room or run a multi-room special, the page has to say what a room is and what costs extra. When it doesn't, the extras show up at the door, and then in the reviews. The pricing section below covers how to state it.
  • Certification is a record buyers can check. In our 5-city study, ChatGPT's answers about named carpet cleaning companies cited certification sources more often than license or registration sources, the only one of the seven trades we checked where that happened (details below). An IICRC Certified Firm employs at least one IICRC Certified Technician, and buyers can look a firm up on the IICRC's own locator.
  • Homes book now and then; facilities book on a schedule.A homeowner calls after a move, a party or a new puppy. A facility is different: the Carpet and Rug Institute's guidance for heavy and severe traffic areas calls for low-moisture interim cleaning weekly and deep cleaning monthly or quarterly. That makes commercial maintenance a recurring account with its own buyer, so it gets its own page.
  • Upholstery, rugs, and tile and grout are their own searches.Someone with a stained sofa or a wool rug isn't searching for carpet cleaning. Give each one a page with your own before-and-after photos, and list it as a separate service on your Business Profile.
  • Wet carpet after a leak is a different job.If you do water extraction, that buyer is in an emergency and comparing restoration companies. Say clearly what you handle and what you don't; if restoration is a real line for you, it needs pages of its own. Our water damage restoration page covers that trade.
  • Paid ads are an option, not a default.Google's US Local Services Ads list includes "Carpet cleaning services". Case by case: when paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal.

How should a carpet cleaner advertise a room price?

Say exactly what the advertised price buys, and sell it on those terms. The Federal Trade Commission's guides on bait advertising describe offers made to draw calls that the business doesn't really intend to honor. A room price is fine; a room price that's never the real price is the problem. This is a planning summary, not legal advice.

The guides define bait advertising as "an alluring but insincere offer to sell a product or service which the advertiser in truth does not intend or want to sell." They treat a misleading first contact as a violation even if the customer learns the true price before paying. Among the signs they weigh: refusing to sell on the advertised terms, and running down the advertised service once you're in the door so the customer trades up.

For a carpet cleaner, that becomes a price page with plain answers:

  • What counts as a room, and any size limit (hallways, stairs, open plans).
  • What the price includes: pre-treatment, spot treatment, moving furniture, typical drying time.
  • What costs extra, and roughly how much: pet odor treatment, heavy soiling, protector, stairs.
  • Your minimum charge and the area you cover.
  • What you can't promise, such as stains that may not come out.

A clear price page also heads off the review that says "the price doubled when they got here." Your state's consumer protection office or your attorney has the last word on what your offers need to say.

Does ChatGPT check certification or a license for carpet cleaners?

Certification came up more. In our 5-city study (October 2026), of 150 ChatGPT answers about named carpet cleaning companies, 54 cited a certification source and 40 a license or registration source. Of the seven trades we checked, carpet cleaning was the only one where certification led, and the IICRC's site was among the most-cited domains.

Source cited in the answerAnswers (of 150)
A certification or trade-body source54
A government licensing or registration source40

The most-cited domains, in order, were the Better Business Bureau, a review platform, the IICRC, a State of Texas site and a home-services directory.

In five ChatGPT runs per city that named no company, it named 93 carpet cleaning companies, counted city by city. Of the 15 companies in the Google Maps top three across the five cities, 2 were among them; of the 15 in Google's local pack, 5 were.

Reported separately from our 50-metro study, which doesn't cover carpet cleaning. How we ran our research.

What this means for you: if you're an IICRC Certified Firm, say so the same way on your site, your Business Profile and your BBB profile, name the standard your crews work to (ANSI/IICRC S100 covers professional carpet and rug cleaning), and check that the IICRC locator lists you under the name customers see. In our study, most top map spots didn't come with a ChatGPT mention, so the work covers both. What IICRC certification means.

Which pages does a carpet cleaner need, and in what order?

Start with the pages that answer price and trust, then add one page for each service and each town you really cover. Most of it fits on the site you already have. If your site can't take a booking on a phone, we'll tell you, and a new site is quoted on its own.

  1. A price page that states what a room is, what's included and what's extra, as above.
  2. A page for each servicecarpet, upholstery, area rugs, tile and grout, pet odor, each with your own photos and the method you use.
  3. A commercial maintenance page for offices and property managers: the schedule you offer, after-hours work and how you report what was cleaned.
  4. A certification and method pageyour IICRC firm status, which technicians hold which certifications, your cleaning method and typical drying time.
  5. Town pages for the places your vans go, each with homes or buildings you've cleaned there, shown only with the customer's permission.
  6. Booking that works on a phone, asking rooms, rugs or furniture and a date. We check that calls and forms are tracked.
  7. Review requests timed to the clean, going out from your own system once the carpet is dry and the customer has seen it; our tool drafts each reply and you approve it. How we handle reviews and reputation.

Before we talk

Questions carpet cleaning owners ask

We run a three-room special. Will you make us drop it?
No. Specials are a common way to price this work. We'll make the page say what a room is, what the special includes and what costs extra, so the price on the page is the price you honor. That protects your reviews as much as your bookings. If a special only pays when it's upsold, that's a pricing decision for you to make.
Our technicians are IICRC certified. Where should that show up?
Wherever a buyer or ChatGPT checks: your home page, a certification page, each service page, your Business Profile and your BBB profile, worded the same way each time. Check that the IICRC's locator lists your firm under the name on your site. In our 5-city study, certification sources were cited in 54 of 150 ChatGPT answers about named carpet cleaning companies, more often than license sources.
How do we get last year's customers to book again?
Start with the customers you already have. Review requests go out from your own system, and we help you set that up. When a past customer searches your name, the profile, reviews and booking page they find should be current, and a page for each service gives them a reason to add upholstery or a rug next time. Rebooking itself isn't something we can promise.
Can you help us win office and property-manager accounts?
A facility manager buys a schedule, not a single clean: how often you come, whether you work after hours, how you handle entrances and traffic lanes, and whether the same crew returns. A commercial maintenance page that answers those, with a walk-through request instead of a room price, is where we'd start, listed as its own service on your Business Profile. Tell us on the review form if commercial is a line you want to grow.
Should we keep buying carpet cleaning leads?
If they book at a price that works, keep them while your own channel grows. A shared lead may go to several cleaners at once, so you're competing on a room price before anyone has seen the room. Requests that come through your own Business Profile, site and reviews reach you alone, and Mindflow doesn't sell or share inquiries. Leads and ads guides walk through the costs of each.
What do you actually know about carpet cleaning?
What's on this page: our 5-city study of what ChatGPT checks about carpet cleaners, the federal pricing guides and the trade's own standard. There's no carpet cleaning client story on our site yet; our one published case is a Georgia fence company we worked with for 8 years, told in its CEO's words above. The free review looks at your own market: where you show on the map, your Business Profile, your reviews and what ChatGPT says.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
