Carpet Cleaning PPC: Google Ads and Local Services Ads for Carpet Cleaners

A carpet cleaning ad is a room price in front of a buyer who is comparing room prices, so Google's pricing rules shape what it can say. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal, next to our SEO, Business Profile, review and conversion work. You own every account.

When do ads make sense for a carpet cleaner?

When the price on the ad is the price you charge, your calendar has room, and each service has a page that books on a phone. Carpet buyers compare room prices before they call, so an ad wins the click on price and loses the job if the visit costs more than the ad said.

Good signs:

  • Each service has its own pagecarpet, upholstery, rugs, and tile and grout, each with its price basis and a booking form that works on a phone (carpet cleaning website design).
  • You know what a booked clean is worth, repeat bookings included, so you know what you can pay to win one.
  • Calls and forms are tracked, so a campaign is judged on booked cleans, not clicks. Call tracking explains the setup.

Not yet: when the ad price only pays with an upsell. That costs you in reviews and runs into Google's rules below.

What can a carpet cleaning ad say about a room price?

Any price you honor, stated with what it covers. Google's ad policies require you to disclose "the payment model or full expense that a user will bear," and its Local Services rules bar "inaccurate and incomplete pricing information." Google's rules don't object to a low room price; they object to a price the tech won't honor.

How Google's rules apply to the lines carpet cleaners use most:

Ad lineWhat Google's rules sayWhat has to be true when the tech arrives
"$39 a room"Disclose "the payment model or full expense that a user will bear" (Google Ads)The page the ad opens says what a room is, any size limit and what costs extra
"3 rooms for $99"No "promotional offers in the ad that are unavailable or aren't easily found" (Google Ads)The special is on that page and bookable on those terms
A price quoted on the phoneNo "low estimates that trick customers into booking services and later charge unusually high rates" (Local Services)The phone price matches the page, and any extra is explained before work starts
"Pet stains removed"No claims that "entice the user with an improbable result (even if this result is possible)" (Google Ads)Say what you treat, and name the stains that may not come out

The federal guides on bait advertising, and how to write the price page itself, are on our carpet cleaning marketing page. This isn't legal advice; your state's consumer protection rules apply too.

Google: Misrepresentation policy and Local Services platform policies, read November 1, 2026. Google changes its policies; check them before you write an offer.

Can a carpet cleaner run Local Services Ads?

Yes, and you pay per lead instead of per click: "Carpet cleaning services" is one of Google's Local Services categories. Google's US requirements for carpet and upholstery cleaning list business and owner background checks, business registration, general liability insurance and state licenses where local law requires them, each marked "Select users only."

What that means before you apply:

  • Which checks you get can vary.Every check carries Google's "Select users only" label, so keep your insurance certificate and registration current, in the name you advertise under. Passing earns the Google Verified badge.
  • You can start before every check is done.Google offers pre-badge ads once you pass the preliminary checks, listed below providers who have finished all of them.
  • Water extraction is a different category."Water damage services" is its own Local Services category, with its own checks and its own decision.

Google is also moving Local Services Ads into Google Ads in phases through 2027. The first, from August 2026, covers select home and storefront advertisers in the categories Google names; carpet cleaning isn't named in the first group. Each account moves whole, the old dashboard then closes, and the badge carries over. What changes is on our Local Services Ads page, charges and credits are in our Local Services Ads guide, and whether to fund ads or your map listing first is in local SEO vs Local Services Ads.

Which carpet searches shouldn't trigger your ad?

Searches from people who want to clean their own carpet, buy a machine, install new carpet or find a job. They look like carpet cleaning to Google and cost the same click. Block them with negative keywords, and add plurals and variants by hand, because Google says negatives "won't match to close variants or other expansions."

SearchWhat the searcher wantsWhat to do
"carpet cleaner rental", "rent a carpet shampooer"A machine for the weekendNegatives: rental, rent, shampooer
"how to get wine out of carpet"To try it firstKeep it off paid search; answer it on your site
"carpet cleaner machine", "carpet shampoo"A product to buyNegatives: machine, shampoo, buy
"carpet installation", "carpet store"New carpetNegatives: install, installation, store
"carpet cleaning jobs"WorkNegatives: jobs, hiring
"water damage carpet"Often an emergencyOnly if you do extraction, in its own campaign

Ask whoever runs your ads to show you the list. The settings themselves are in our Google Ads handbook.

Google Ads Help: about negative keywords, read November 1, 2026.

Can you show ads to past customers?

Yes, within Google's Customer Match limits. You can upload customer details you collected yourself if your privacy policy says you share data with third parties that work for you and your account has a good policy and payment history. Full targeting and bid changes need 90 days of Google Ads history and over $50,000 in lifetime spend.

What that means for a carpet cleaner whose best customers book again:

  • Below those thresholds, you get the "Observation" setting and exclusions. Exclusion still helps: a new-customer campaign can skip people who already book with you every year.
  • The list has to be yours.Google allows "customer information that you collected in the first-party context," so a bought list or a lead seller's list is out.
  • Consent comes first wherever the law or Google's policy requires it.

Google Ads policy: Customer Match policy, read November 1, 2026. Google changes these thresholds; check them before you plan around them.

What do carpet cleaning PPC pages leave out?

The rules your ads have to follow, and who keeps the account. Of six carpet cleaning PPC agency pages we read on November 1, 2026, none mentioned Google's pricing rules for ads, one said in words that the client owns the ad account, and one stated a contract length. Ask about all three before you sign.

Three questions to put to anyone who would run your ads, and what to listen for:

  • Which room prices and specials will the ads quote?Listen for prices you already honor, with the extras on the page.
  • What's on the negative keyword list?Listen for rentals, DIY and installation searches by name.
  • Will water damage searches trigger our ads?Listen for no, unless you do extraction, and then in its own campaign.

Account, billing and access questions for any Google Ads hire are in our Google Ads handbook.

Quick answer

Where do ads fit in Mindflow's work for a carpet cleaner?

Case by case, and never on their own. Ads sit beside SEO with AI search optimization, your Business Profile, reviews and conversion work in one program. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. You own every account, and ad spend is paid to the platform.

What we build for a carpet cleaner is what the ad depends on: service pages that state the price basis, phone-friendly booking and reviews buyers can compare. We check that calls and forms are tracked. No booking, ranking or return is promised, and our published case is a fence company's SEO, web design and reputation work, not ads. Case study

Case study: a fence company, from one county to Metro Atlanta

The problem

"we struggled to generate consistent leads online and were invisible in search results."

The work

SEO and web design over an 8-year partnership, plus reputation management.

The results Zack Goekjian (CEO) describes in his testimonial
  • "Within the first year, our website started ranking for competitive keywords like 'Atlanta fence installation' and 'Atlanta fence company'"
  • 250% more qualified leads
  • from 1 county to several across Metro Atlanta
  • from 5 people to 12
  • reputation work that helped maintain a 4.9-star average rating.

These are Zack's own figures from his testimonial, not numbers we measured. Results depend on your market and starting point.

Questions about carpet cleaning PPC

Can I see what carpet cleaning clicks cost in my area before I spend?
Roughly. Google's Keyword Planner shows a low and a high top-of-page bid for your own location, about the 20th and 80th percentile of what advertisers have paid. It's history, not a quote: clicks are priced in an auction. Work back from what a booked clean is worth, repeat bookings included; our marketing budget guide shows how. Ad spend goes to Google, not to us.
Should commercial carpet cleaning get its own campaign?
Yes, if you want that work. A facility manager searches differently, for "commercial carpet cleaning" or "office carpet cleaning," and buys a schedule, not a room price. A separate campaign keeps its budget apart, sends clicks to a page with a walk-through request, and shows whether those searches turn into accounts.
We're booked solid this week. Can another cleaner take our Local Services leads?
No. Google's Local Services rules don't allow passing leads to another business; a lead is fulfilled by you or your own vetted technicians. When the calendar is full, lower the budget or pause the ads instead, and turn them back on when you have open slots.
Can one ad cover carpet, upholstery and rugs?
It can, but then the ad can't repeat what each buyer typed or quote the right price. Separate ad groups for carpet, upholstery, rugs, and tile and grout let each ad carry the searched words and its own price line, and the search terms report then shows which service books.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
