SEO for Remodeling Companies

Mindflow runs SEO for remodeling companies. We help homeowners find you when they search for kitchen, bathroom, addition and whole-home remodels in the towns you work in, on Google Maps, in search results and in AI answers. Your Business Profile, reviews and conversion work are in the same plan.

What does SEO do for a remodeling company?

SEO for a remodeler is the work that gets your company found while a homeowner plans a project, and makes your finished rooms, license and reviews easy to check before they call. It covers the Google map, search results and AI answers like Google's AI Overviews and ChatGPT (in our research, the OpenAI API with web search).

Consultation requests come through your own profile and site; Mindflow doesn't sell or share leads. Remodeling buyers find a company in three ways:

  • The project and the place"bathroom remodel near me" or "kitchen remodeling in [your town]."
  • The mapthe three companies Google shows first, with their reviews and project photos.
  • Your nameafter a referral or a finished job down the street, they look you up to see similar rooms and check your record.

How ChatGPT treats remodelers, the records homeowners check and when remodeling searches rise in each city are on our remodeling marketing page.

Do remodeling websites tell Google what they do?

Most do, but fewer than in any other trade we studied. In our crawl, 428 of 583 remodeler homepages named the trade in their title tag, against 4,103 of 4,475 across all eight trades. Just under half, 283 of 584, carried LocalBusiness schema. Both are quick fixes, and they're among the first things we check.

In our website crawlRemodelingAll eight trades
Homepage title names the trade428 of 5834,103 of 4,475
Homepage title names a city354 of 5832,511 of 4,475
LocalBusiness schema on the homepage283 of 5842,348 of 4,433
Reviews page on the site230 of 6591,930 of 5,072

A homepage title is one of the first things Google and AI tools read. A title with only the company name or a slogan leaves both to guess what the site is about. Schema does the same job in code: it states your name, what kind of business you are and where you work. Neither replaces good project pages, but both cost little to fix.

Features were found by matching page text and titles, which can miss some and over-count others. How the study was run and the contractor website study.

What's included in remodeling SEO?

Remodeling SEO with Mindflow covers your Google Business Profile, a page for each project type you want more of, town pages where you've done real work, your listings, your reviews, the technical fixes that let Google read your site, the business facts AI tools use, and changes that turn more visits into consultation requests. Every plan includes the same work.

  • Your Google Business Profilea primary category that says what you are, each project type listed as a service, your service area and photos of finished rooms, kept active (Google Business Profile management).
  • Project-type pagesone for each kind of remodel you want more of, from kitchens to whole-home work, each with your own photos and the answers a homeowner wants first: what the job involves, how selections are made and what living through it is like.
  • Project and town pagesa finished job with its town, scope and photos you approve, and a town page only where you can show work there.
  • Listings and credentialsyour name, phone, service area and license or registration number, the same everywhere buyers and AI tools look, including the BBB.
  • Reviewsa request at handover, sent from your own system (we help you set it up), and a reply drafted for each new review (reviews and reputation).
  • AI answersaccurate facts about your company on the sources AI tools read (AI search optimization).
  • Consultation requestschanges to pages, forms and call buttons so more visitors ask for a consultation, especially on a phone. We check that calls and forms are tracked, and your monthly report shows what your tracking records.

Which pages does a remodeling website need?

A remodeling site needs a page for each project type you sell, project pages that show finished work by town, and a town page only where you've built something. Google's own rules limit the rest: categories describe what you are, services list what you do, and copied city pages count as doorways.

PageWhat it answersWhat it needs
Kitchen remodelingSearches like "kitchen remodel near me"Your kitchens, how design and selections work, typical time without a kitchen
Bathroom remodelingSearches like "bathroom remodeling [town]"Your bathrooms, how you handle plumbing and tile, how long the room is closed
Additions and basementsSearches like "home addition contractor"Permits and drawings, who designs, how you protect the rest of the house
Whole-home and design-buildSearches for full renovationsYour process from first visit to handover, one project told start to finish
Project pagesHomeowners comparing your work with othersScope, town and before-and-after photos the homeowner approved
Town pagesSearches like "remodelers in [town]"Real projects in that town, only where you work
About and licenseSearches for your company nameLicense or registration number, insurance, who runs the jobs

Two Google rules shape the profile side. Its category help says: "Do not select a category for every product or service." So kitchens, baths and additions go in your profile's services and on their own pages, under one primary category that completes Google's sentence "This business IS a." Its spam policies list "pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse.

Some states also say where your number goes. Florida's contracting law says a contractor's certificate or registration number "shall appear in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium." Florida's license site was among the sites ChatGPT cited most in our answers about named remodelers. So we put your number on your site and profile wherever your state's rules call for it. Not legal advice; check your own state. If the site itself needs rebuilding, that's a separate project; see website design.

What should you ask before hiring a remodeling SEO company?

Of nine remodeling SEO agency pages we reviewed on November 1, 2026, one stated contract terms, one said who owns the accounts and two mentioned licensing at all. Ask any remodeling SEO company, us included, these five questions, and get every answer in writing before you sign.

AskWhat a straight answer sounds like
Who owns the accounts and the website?Everything in your name, and you keep it if you leave.
How long am I committed?A short fixed start, then month to month, in writing.
Will you work with another remodeler in my area?A clear yes or no for your area, not "it depends."
Will you add a category for every project type we do?No. Google says not to; project types go in services and on their own pages.
Whose photos go on our pages?Yours, from real jobs, with the homeowner's OK. Nothing that passes off someone else's work, or a made-up image, as a job you did.

Our answers on ownership, commitment and competitors are in the questions at the end of this page. You deal with Youssef Hodaigui directly: calls and texts are answered as they come in, emails usually within hours.

Questions about remodeling SEO

What does SEO cost for a remodeling company?
With Mindflow, plans start at $2,800 a month for one metro, $4,500 for a metro and the cities around it, and $8,500 for three or more metros. Your price depends on how competitive remodeling is in your market and how many project types you want to grow. There's no setup fee, and you get your exact price in writing first. See plans and prices.
We also take general contracting jobs. Can one site rank for both?
Yes, if both are real parts of your business. Your Business Profile still gets one primary category, the one that best says what you are, and the other work goes in services and on its own pages. If most of your work is new structures and multi-trade builds rather than remodels, our contractor SEO page fits you better.
Do before-and-after photos help us in search?
They help buyers decide, and they give your pages and profile something specific to show. A project page with the town, the scope and photos you took tells Google and a homeowner more than a gallery with no captions. Use your own photos with the homeowner's OK; an invented image presented as your job misleads buyers.
Does design-build need its own page?
If you sell it, yes. A homeowner hiring one company to design and build compares process, fees and timelines, which is a different decision from booking a bathroom refresh. A page that walks through your design-build steps, with one finished project told start to finish, answers that buyer and keeps your other project pages focused.
How long does SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. How fast depends on your competitors and on how complete your Business Profile and site are today.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. No one can guarantee a spot on Google or in an AI answer. We show you the work and the results.
Is AI SEO extra?
No. AI search optimization is included in SEO in every plan.
Am I locked into a contract?
The first 90 days are committed and billed monthly. After that it's month to month with 30 days' notice.
Who owns my accounts and website?
You do. Every account stays in your name, and website files and copy are yours once paid.
Will you work with my competitor?
No. We won't work with your direct competitor in your area.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If yours can't turn visits into calls, we'll say so and quote a site separately.
Do you run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads?
Case by case. Our plans cover SEO, AI search, your Google Business Profile, reviews and conversion. When paid ads fit your market and goals, we scope Google Ads, Local Services Ads or ChatGPT ads in your proposal. Ad spend goes to the platform and isn't part of our fee.
